One of the biggest needs for transformation in the health care system is within the military and veteran systems. The integrated military health care partners and providers are manned at 60% of the current mental health care need. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Compassion Fatigue are being treated in variant ways throughout the DOD, VA and civilian health care systems. Moreover, there are currently no mechanisms to control the quality of care, certify the standardization of patient centric evidence based best practices and knowledge to ensure the integration of culturally appropriate care by providers. Given the wide diversity of people and experiences in the military and veteran communities, a large number of service men and women are in need of specialized community based care. The military and veteran communities are uniquely positioned to offer this care within the current military health system by incorporating innovative training to its providers to improve outcomes.
